AI & Data Science Intern Location: Plano, TX Duration: 12 weeks Start Date: May 25, 2027 About this opportunity: We are looking for an AI & Data Science Intern to support data science, analytics, automation, and artificial intelligence initiatives. In this role, you will work with data to uncover insights, develop analytical models, and explore AI-driven solutions that help improve business processes and decision-making. You will gain hands-on experience with machine learning, Generative AI, data visualization, and automation technologies while collaborating with experienced data, engineering, and business professionals. What you will do: • Assist with collecting, cleaning, and preparing data for analysis, reporting, and AI/ML projects. • Analyze structured and unstructured data to identify patterns, trends, and actionable insights. • Support the development, testing, and evaluation of machine learning and predictive analytics models. • Assist in building and improving data visualizations, dashboards, and reporting solutions. • Explore and apply Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and AI-driven tools to solve business challenges. • Support the development of automation solutions that improve efficiency and reduce manual effort. • Help translate business problems into data-driven and AI-enabled solutions. • Participate in proof-of-concept projects involving AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data science, analytics, and innovation initiatives. • Document findings, methodologies, and recommendations, and communicate results to technical and non-technical audiences. • Learn and apply best practices in data science, machine learning, responsible AI, and data governance. The skills you bring: • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field. • Strong interest in data science, machine learning, analytics, and AI technologies. • Basic knowledge of statistics, data analysis, and predictive modeling concepts. • Familiarity with Python and common data science libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, or similar tools. • Understanding of machine learning fundamentals and AI concepts through coursework, projects, or internships. • Familiarity with Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering, or AI agents is a plus. • Exposure to Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI, OpenAI technologies, or similar AI platforms. • Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases. • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar data visualization tools through coursework, projects, or internships. • Understanding of APIs and data integration concepts is a plus. • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data analysis techniques. • Exposure to programming languages such as C#, .NET, Java, or PHP is a plus. • Understanding of data privacy, security, and responsible AI principles. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. • Effective communication skills and the ability to present insights clearly. • Eagerness to learn, experiment, and contribute in a collaborative team environment.
