About this role

The Manager, Technical Operations owns the performance and delivery of Amazon's in-region postponement factory operations. You will lead a team of Senior Operations Program Managers and Senior Site Technical Managers responsible for factory readiness, production launch, process development, and sustained operations. You define team strategy, set goals, and drive cross-functional execution to deliver programs on time, at low cost, and at high quality. You build and grow a high-performing team capable of solving complex manufacturing problems in a fast-paced, automation-focused environment. Key job responsibilities As the Manager, Site Technical Operations, you: · own the performance, delivery, and development of a team of Senior Operations Program Managers and Senior Site Technical Managers across factory readiness, process development, and sustained operations; · define team goals and strategy by working backwards from customer problems and business needs, including capacity planning, cost targets, yield goals, and on-time delivery commitments; · set program priorities with the team. Align resources across Engineering, Quality, Automation, Supply Chain, and manufacturing partners. Remove roadblocks that prevent on-schedule, on-budget delivery; · lead recruitment efforts by attracting and hiring bar-raising talent. Establish onboarding plans that accelerate skill growth and deliver rapid exposure to DPO programs, products, and processes; · grow direct reports through collaborative development planning, coaching, and project assignment. Evaluate employees against role guidelines and provide regular, clear performance feedback; · drive process improvement using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies. Establish an environment that encourages simplifying processes, reducing repeated work, and removing defects; · communicate program status, risks, and decisions clearly and concisely to leadership up to three levels above through Amazon's writing mechanisms. A day in the life You operate at the intersection of strategy and execution. On any given day, you may be defining the manufacturing strategy for a new program launch with your OPM, reviewing process qualification data with your STM, presenting schedule risks in an executive review, coaching a direct report on career development, or negotiating resource priorities with partner teams. During production launches, you ensure your team drives daily standups, resolves issues rapidly, and meets production and yield targets. During sustained operations, you focus on process improvement, cost reduction, and building team capability for the next program cycle.
