Job Description The Analytical Chemistry Core (ACC) at Harvard Medical School is primarily focused on the analysis of small molecules using Liquid Chromatography - Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) instrumentation. Targets include synthetic therapeutics, endogenous metabolites, and lipids to support early research efforts across the greater HMS community. Under the direction of the core Director, the Research Assistant will perform routine LC-MS assays. This position will also contribute to projects that expand the lab’s analytical capabilities. Other general duties include reagent preparation, instrument maintenance, and assistance of core users. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: College background or equivalent work experience, preferably Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or a related field. At least one-year related work experience (relevant course work may count towards experience). Additional Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred. General interest in basic science research, hardworking and willing to learn. Operational experience with LCMS or HPLC preferred. Experience performing data analysis with statistics preferred. Additional Information Term: This is a one-year term position from the date of hire, with the possibility of extension, contingent upon work performance and continued funding to support the position. Standard Hours/Schedule: 35 hrs. per week | Monday - Friday | 9:00 am - 5:00 pm Visa Sponsorship Information: Harvard University is unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.
