The Employee Benefits Specialist supports the administration of U.S. and Canada employee benefit programs, including health and welfare, retirement, wellness, and voluntary benefit plans. This role supports benefits processing, reporting, employee inquiries, invoice reconciliation, and compliance-related activities while partnering with Human Resources, Payroll, vendors, and third-party administrators. *This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, with employees expected to work in the office three days per week.
Benefits Administration
Support administration of employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, retirement, and voluntary benefits Assist with annual enrollment activities, including system testing and employee communications
Data Management and Reporting
Prepare routine reports related to benefits enrollment, participation, and utilization Process benefit enrollments, status changes, terminations, and qualifying life events in applicable HR systems Audit benefits data and error reports to identify discrepancies and ensure accurate records
Employee Support
Assist with the resolution of routine employee benefit issues with carriers and third-party administrators Deliver a positive experience when interacting with employees and Human Resources
Invoices and Billing
Review, reconcile, and process benefits invoices to ensure accuracy and timely payment Coordinate with Human Resources Shared Services (HRSS), Finance, Payroll, and benefits vendors to resolve billing and funding issues Assist with the administration and reconciliation of self-funded and fully insured benefit plans, as applicable
Compliance and Audits
Assist with data collection for compliance activities based on applicable regulatory requirements Gather data and provide reporting to support retirement plan audit requirements
Basic Job Requirements
High School Diploma/GED or global equivalent Three (3) to six (6) years of experience supporting employee benefits administration, Human Resources, payroll, or related functions Experience supporting employee benefits programs within an EPC, engineering, construction, energy, manufacturing, or similarly complex corporate environment Basic knowledge of health and welfare, retirement, and voluntary benefit plans Experience working with employee data and maintaining a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality Strong attention to detail, organizational, communication, and customer service skills Other Job Requirements
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data reconciliation, reporting, and analysis Strong proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint with the ability to develop professional presentations and communicate benefits-related information effectively Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field Experience supporting U.S. and/or Canada employee benefit programs Experience with HRIS and benefits administration systems, including SuccessFactors, bswift, or similar platforms Experience supporting annual enrollment and benefits processing activities Knowledge of self-funded and fully insured benefit plans We are an equal opportunity employer.
