Software Development Engineer II

Alexa Shopping team located in Bangalore is looking for an Software Development Engineer to deliver strategic goals for Shopping suite of products. Will work in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high quality software, establish design principles, select design patterns and mentor junior team members Key job responsibilities - As a Software Development Engineer II, you will design, manage and own technologies in Alexa Shopping programs space and you will have significant influence on our overall strategy by helping define new product features, drive the system architecture, and spearhead the best practices that enable a quality product. - Design and implement software solutions that address customer needs, balancing functional and non-functional requirements such as scalability, performance, and security. - Contribute across the full software development lifecycle, including product definition, scoping, coding, testing, deployment, and ongoing operational support, ensuring root causes of issues are identified and permanently resolved. - Write high-quality, well-documented code and actively participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to teammates and coaching others on best practices for logical, maintainable software. - Evaluate new tools and approaches, including generative artificial intelligence, to improve engineering workflows and recommend adoption where appropriate. - Collaborate with cross-functional partners and stakeholders to understand business context, prioritize effectively, and deliver incremental improvements that enhance customer experience and system reliability. A day in the life You will dive into a design discussion for an upcoming feature, prototype a solution, or pair with a teammate on a tricky code review. Involve in writing and shipping code, updating documentation, or onboarding a new team member. You will regularly connect with product and engineering partners to align on priorities and share progress.
