Job Description
Intern - PDM - Bio Pivotal Analytical Development As a Gilead intern you will contribute to high-impact meaningful projects that will not only further advance our company’s mission but will allow you to gain real world experience at one of the most innovative organizations in the world. You will also have opportunities to participate in special events including professional development and leadership presentations, social/network building activities and local community volunteer programs. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in biopharmaceutical analytical testing while exploring the application of laboratory automation, data science, and AI-enabled tools to accelerate scientific workflows and improve operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: Learn and apply a biopharmaceutical analytical method (e.g., Capillary Electrophoresis [CE], capillary isoelectric focusing [cIEF], ELISA plate based assays or related techniques) through hands-on laboratory training and assay execution. Develop a foundational understanding of assay principles, workflows, data generation, and analytical method performance to support scientific and operational decision-making. Support efforts to automate analytical workflows by evaluating, programming, and optimizing laboratory automation platforms (e.g., liquid handling systems) for partial or end-to-end assay execution. Adapt, enhance, and validate existing AI-enabled data processing tools for use with a new analytical method, including data aggregation, analysis, visualization, and reporting workflows. Collaborate with scientists and automation specialists to identify opportunities for improving assay efficiency, reducing manual effort, and enhancing data quality through digital and automated solutions. Analyze experimental results, troubleshoot technical challenges, and document findings to support method development, process improvement, and implementation activities. Present project progress, technical findings, and recommendations to stakeholders throughout the internship. Showcase your work with a final presentation (PPT) near the conclusion of your internship Required Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age at the start of the internship. Must be enrolled full‑time in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, MBA, JD or PhD program at a nationally accredited U.S. college or university, with continued full‑time enrollment required in the Fall semester following the internship. Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate (freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior) or as a graduate/doctoral student.
