The Opportunity
Avantor is looking for Customer Service Specialist I who will work under moderate supervision, provide support to the sourcing function. Ensures the availability of materials in the supply chain, as scheduled, and the maintenance of inventory at minimum acceptable levels. Monitors inventory requests, production schedules and purchase requisitions to coordinate purchasing activities for current/anticipated demand of materials and services. Collects suppliers’ quotations and examines bids. Identifies and selects suppliers that meet the organization’s standards of price, quality and delivery. MAJOR JOB DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND DELIVERABLES (KPIs) · Ensuring prompt vendor Set up & payments for open invoices, avoid being placed on hold (Vendor-VWR business continuity) · Handles internal/External customer communication in the processing, expediting, and troubleshooting of customer billing only orders. · Transition of Indirect Spend (FIORI) process US & EU ensuring on-time GR & payments to vendor · Converts FIORI expense with Revenue through SAP Customer billing. Utilizes multiple and often complex systems, programs, and monitors to research information. · Researches and resolves customer issues, handles requests for credits and other special requests. Resolves product or service problems by clarifying the customer's complaint; determining the cause of the problem; selecting and explaining the best solution to solve the problem; expediting correction or adjustment; following up to ensure resolution. · Provides high-level, quality service, closely aligned with Onsite, to enable service growth. · Follows up with LPS team, and customers on any outstanding issues. · Observe and find opportunities to provide solutions. · Recommend areas for process improvement · Make decisions based on policies and past precedence, seeking guidance, as necessary. · Accountable performance metrics such as schedule adherence, productivity standards and quality standards. · Performs other projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
(Education/training, experience, and certifications) · Bachelor’s degree a must · 3+ years applicable experience in a customer relationship role, and experience with Inventory Management · Demonstrated problem-solving skills and resourcefulness, including Root Cause Analysis (RCA). · Intermediate computer skills are necessary; ability to work in multiple systems concurrently. · Technical proficiency with the ability to quickly learn proprietary systems.
