Abbott Diabetes Care Kilkenny Abbott Diabetes Care has opened a new site, in Kilkenny, that is at the forefront of Diabetes care with the latest technology, to manufacture Freestyle blood glucose test strips and Freestyle Sensors for use in diabetes management. Among Abbott Diabetes Care leading brands are the Freestyle Precision, Freestyle Lite and Freestyle Libre systems. Purpose of the role Responsible for providing administrative and secretarial services to the organisation. Includes producing documents, collecting, recording, sorting and filing information, handling mail, preparing routine reports, making travel arrangements, arranging appointments, responding to enquiries, and operating office equipment. Individual contributor that works under limited supervision. Applies subject matter knowledge. Requires capacity to understand specific needs or requirements to apply skills/knowledge.
Responsibilities
Induction Programme & New Hire Support Integration Induction Programme every Wednesday - Friday for all incoming: Line Operators, Lead Operators, Manufacturing Technicians, Quality Technicians, & Lab Technicians Primary point of contact - New Hire Welcome email, Lockers, PPE, Site Tour, Software and System set up, ISO Trainsupport Support Induction Training Procurement, Administration & Business Support Raising purchase orders requests and shopping carts Liaise with external suppliers for quotations Ordering and maintaining stationery inventory Timekeeping Administration Bi-weekly Payroll - timekeeper Running timekeeping reports and submission to Finance department Committees & Representation 6S representative Restaurant Steering Committee (monthly) Promise Team (monthly, including follow‑ups) Croí an Óir (weekly, including induction rota coverage) Women Leaders of Abbott (careers fairs, material development, Ops participation) Audit Support Ad Hoc Duties Tier 4: weekly reminder emails and populating slides Supporting site activities such as ISO 14644‑5:2025 gap‑assessment Supporting QARA Ops Week activities YVC Supporting site visits Qualifications and Experience A Level 7 or Level 8 qualification in a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant work experience. 1-2 years' experience in an administrative, business support, office coordination, or customer-facing role. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience coordinating multiple tasks, maintaining accurate records, and working to deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritise competing demands. Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships across teams and support new employees. Demonstrated ability to work independently while also contributing as part of a collaborative team.
