Shift: 2nd Schedule: Monday - Friday, Saturday and Sundays as‑needed to support operations. Additional compensation is provided for the 6th and 7th workdays. Hours: 3:00 PM – 12:00 AM/end of shift (flex as needed) SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and management of plant Utilities and Buildings & Grounds. Utilities include, but are not limited to, ammonia (NH₃) refrigeration systems, steam generation systems, boilers, Fulton thermal fluid heaters, compressed air systems, fire protection systems, HVAC systems, potable water systems, and plant utility distribution infrastructure. Buildings & Grounds responsibilities include maintaining, managing, and improving internal and external facility assets and property. Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) is required. Responsibilities include ensuring reliability, regulatory compliance, maintenance execution, contractor coordination, and continuous improvement of utility systems. This role provides frontline supervision of mechanics & operators in the department, establishing work schedules and priorities to ensure facility needs are met.
REQUIREMENTS
Education: High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certificate preferred.
Experience
3+ years’ in industrial maintenance, boiler/refrigeration, or a related technical field. Strong knowledge of refrigeration theory required. Food processing or packaging experience preferred. Computer Skills: Proficient in Windows-based applications; able to use email, enter data, and create basic queries. Will be expected to learn SAP-PM and maintain accurate documentation, scheduling, and preventive maintenance instructions. Communication Skills: Strong verbal, written, and reading communication skills required. Technical Skills: Ability to install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot hydraulic and electrical systems. Experience with ammonia refrigeration, electrical systems (230–480V three-phase and 110V control), boilers, water treatment, pneumatics, hydraulics, and general mechanical and plumbing work essential. Fabrication and oxy-acetylene welding skills a plus. CMMS experience preferred.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise and lead hourly maintenance team members supporting boilers, refrigeration systems, building maintenance, and PSM activities. Must demonstrate strong leadership, organization, accountability, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
