Summary: This role reports to the Manager, Cost Accounting (Internal Manufacturing), and will support the appropriate costing and oversight of inventory for Kraft Heinz-owned manufacturing operations throughout the North America zone. This role calls for strong business partnership with finance, operations, and business contacts at a variety of levels, including corporate supply chain finance, manufacturing plant controllers, commercialization teams, and data management stewards. Key opportunities for enhancement include elevating and simplifying the annual costing process, partnering with crucial innovation partners to ensure new product development can be launched in a timely manner, and developing automation or new reporting to support the accuracy of both standard and actual costing and associated variances.
Responsibilities
The following are key tasks/projects that will be owned by the Sr Accountant, Cost Accounting: Refine and execute month-end close journal entries, covering topics such as variance pass backs, deferred expenses, manual inventory adjustments, and cost component analysis. Provide accounting guidance to both accounting and non-accounting colleagues. Define and implement process improvements for closing with accuracy and efficiency. Become proficient in SAP Material Ledger (ML) close process. Improve the clarity of documentation and insights gained from Blackline account reconciliations and Sarbanes-Oxley controls pertaining to inventory costing and adjustments. Lead impactful projects meant to drive zone efficiencies and process improvements, such as: Annual operating plan (AOP) updates of standard costs and bills of material (BOMs) SAP product hierarchy updates ERP and reporting updates (transition to SAP S/4HANA) Partner with and provide guidance to the offshore costing team in India. Support personnel at assigned locations and their associated business unit management with ad hoc accounting information and analysis. Consolidate and publish variance analysis reporting. Develop and conduct training sessions and project deliverables as needed.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance 2+ years of relevant experience in accounting, product costing, or manufacturing Strong knowledge of US GAAP Demonstrated initiative and decision-making skills Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment Critical thinking and problem-solving skills Ability to analyze detailed data and deliver actionable adjustments Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communications skills Desire to lead process improvement efforts Preferences: Certified public accounting (CPA) license Experience with SAP Microsoft Excel skills Sarbanes-Oxley/compliance exposure Demonstrated analytics skills – Power BI, Snowflake, and/or various Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools Our Total Rewards philosophy is to provide a meaningful and flexible spectrum of programs that equitably support our diverse workforce and their families and complement Kraft Heinz’ strategy and values. New Hire Base Salary Range: $89,800.00 - $112,200.00 Bonus: This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus as provided by the plan terms and governing documents.
