At Abbott Diabetes Care we develop and manufacture leading-edge technologies that help people manage diabetes more effectively. As we continue to expand our digital and data capabilities, we are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our team in Sligo and play a key role in advancing our Data, AI & Analytics strategy.  Purpose of the Role The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and enabling scalable data products, platforms, and capabilities that deliver measurable business value across Abbott Diabetes Care. Operating at the intersection of data, technology, and business, this role transforms complex data into trusted, accessible, and reusable assets that power analytics, reporting, automation, artificial intelligence, and operational decision-making. Working closely with business stakeholders, Data Product Leads, architects, data scientists, and IT partners, you will ensure data solutions align with strategic priorities while meeting enterprise standards for quality, governance, security, and scalability. This is a unique opportunity to shape and build foundational data capabilities from the ground up. The successful candidate will establish and embed standard work, create and maintain SOPs, and develop scalable end-to-end processes that support consistent, high-quality data management across the organisation. Through these efforts, you will play a key role in enabling Abbott's Data, AI & Analytics strategy, driving the adoption of advanced analytics, AI, self-service reporting, and business intelligence solutions. Flexibility in working hours is required to support collaboration across global teams and business priorities.

Data Engineering Strategy & Delivery   Design, develop, and maintain scalable data products, pipelines, and platforms that support business, analytics, and AI use cases.  Translate business and data product requirements into robust technical solutions that create measurable business value.  Develop reusable
