We are currently seeking Paralegal Technology students to join our Professional Liability (Errors & Omissions) and Directors & Officers Liability team within our Specialty Insurance Claims department. What you'll do here: Monitor the progress of litigation files and legal proceedings, ensuring key deadlines and milestones are tracked and coordinated. Collaborate with external law firms by conducting follow-ups and helping ensure the smooth flow of information. Transform complex files into clear and actionable information by preparing litigation summaries, case overviews, and concise briefings for decision-makers. Conduct targeted legal research on points of law, liability issues, damages, and other matters related to professional and financial lines claims. Support the initial assessment of claims by reviewing factors such as date of loss, policy period, retroactive date, notice of claim, and the existence of other insurance coverage. Prepare professional communications, including acknowledgements, document requests, requests for additional information, and other correspondence for insureds, brokers, lawyers, and other stakeholders. Assist with the financial management of claims files, including monitoring erosion of policy limits, preparing payment instructions, and processing recommendations related to legal invoices. Support Claims Advisors and Claims Specialists by preparing tracking reports, compiling data, and organizing information within complex files, including class action matters. What you bring to the table: Currently enrolled in a College Diploma (DEC) in Legal Techniques . Interest in insurance law, professional liability, litigation, commercial law, or contract analysis. Strong ability to review, analyze, synthesize, and organize large volumes of information. Excellent written communication skills and the ability to adapt communication styles to different audiences. Strong attention to detail, particularly when working with legal documents, deadlines, and confidential information. Well-developed organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to ask questions and learn.
