Job Description
An opportunity for an Aerodynamics Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space , Getafe (Madrid). The selected candidate will join the Aerodynamics Team in Getafe and start with an 18 to 24-month secondment in the EF2000 Flight Joint Team in Manching (Germany) to contribute to the EF2000 development. Following this secondment, the jobholder will return to Getafe to continue supporting the EF2000 program and other Airbus Defence & Space aircraft. Working within a multidisciplinary Flight Physics environment alongside international partners, the candidate will participate in external shape design, complex aerodynamic modeling (performance, handling qualities, and loads in steady/unsteady modes), and experimental wind tunnel testing.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The main tasks of the jobholder will be: Design air vehicle external shapes and deliver comprehensive aerodynamic models, performance data, handling qualities, and loads in steady/unsteady modes on time, cost, and quality (TCQ). Develop and maintain specialized technologies , methods, and numerical/experimental aerodynamic prediction tools to meet program specifications throughout the aircraft lifecycle. Contribute to achieving vehicle project aerodynamics and flight performance requirements across design and major component/system integration phases. Acquire and advance innovative aerodynamic technologies consistent with overall company strategy. Establish technical linkages with external research communities in aerodynamics and multidisciplinary air vehicle design/optimization. Collaborate directly with related flight physics disciplines , including structures, loads, stability & control, and mass properties.

Education
Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering.
Experience
Willingness to undertake an international secondment; experience in aerospace/engineering environments is appreciated. Soft skills: High adaptability to work in a multinational and multidisciplinary environment, willingness to travel, fast learning capacity, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong analytical capabilities, integrity, and stress resilience. Languages: Advanced level in English & Spanish (both written & spoken). Technical knowledge: Understanding of aerodynamic principles, fluid dynamics, or numerical prediction techniques. Valuable / Nice to have: A PhD level in Aerospace Engineering will be valuable. Knowledge and experience in aerodynamic design and characterization, numerical prediction tools, fluid dynamics, wind tunnel tests, CAD tools, flight mechanics.
