The Assistant Estimator is responsible for providing estimating services to deliver cost-effective and detailed estimates of Substation, Distribution, or Transmission construction projects. This position is responsible for the successful estimating of projects accomplished through managing all aspects of estimate development including scope, schedule, cost, safety, and quality. What You'll Do Responsibilities:
Assist in the estimate of distribution, transmission, or substation projects in accordance with Potelco’s policies and procedures. Consult with clients, vendors, and field leadership to effectively estimate cost and resolve inconsistencies. Work with operations to ensure the estimate, schedule, and work plan best suite the customers’ needs and provide a safe and cost-effective solution. Attend customer pre-bid meetings and job walks. Participate in proposal development effort. Track and maintain operations feedback regarding cost and performance to improve future estimating efforts. Utilizie Pyhton and AI to assist in the estimating process.
What You'll Bring Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Accounting or relevant experience. At least 1+ years of expercience with Python and AI. Demonstrated skills in written communications; ability to compose basic as well as complex technical documents, formal letters, invoices. Ability to work in a fast paced, ambiguous environment. Must be willing to travel as estimating necessitate. Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, or equivalent. Ability to identify opportunities and resolve issues in a timely manner. Strong analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Must pass mandatory drug and alcohol screening(s). Valid driver’s license.

Compensation Range The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $34.00/Hr. - USD $38.00/Hr. depending on experience and qualifications.
