Technical Summary: The IT Database Infrastructure Engineer VI is a senior technical leader responsible for the architecture, engineering, governance, and strategic direction of enterprise database platforms across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. Serving as the organization's highest-level database subject matter expert, this role provides deep expertise in Oracle Database, Oracle Exadata, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL, driving the design and implementation of scalable, secure, high-performing, and resilient database solutions that support critical business applications and digital transformation initiatives. Working closely with application teams, infrastructure engineering, enterprise architects, hosting organizations, and business stakeholders, the engineer establishes database standards, influences technology roadmaps, and guides platform modernization efforts. The role focuses on optimizing performance, reliability, security, compliance, interoperability, and cost efficiency while enabling sustainable growth and innovation across the enterprise. As a recognized technical authority, the IT Database Infrastructure Engineer VI provides hands-on architectural leadership, advances operational maturity, reduces technology risk, and ensures database services align with long-term business objectives and evolving enterprise technology strategies.
Job Summary
This position provides expert consultation and technical advice on IT infrastructure planning, engineering, and architecture and leads team interactions with architects and software engineers to ensure functional specifications are converted into flexible, scalable, and maintainable system designs. This position builds and leverages partnerships with various IT teams and partners with business leaders, solutions, and enterprise architects to review business drivers, and define, understand, and communicate target strategies and roadmaps to team members.
Essential Responsibilities

Fosters and leverages partnerships with various IT Teams (e.g., database, operations, technical support) throughout system development and implementation. Serve as an expert in developing system designs that adhere to company architecture standards.
