What this opportunity involves:  The Junior HSSE Business Partner is a development-focused role designed to build practical HSSE capabilities through structured mentorship, with a clear progression pathway toward becoming an independent Business Partner across the PDS portfolio. An overview of the role: You'll work closely with the senior HSSE Business Partner to develop on-the-ground HSSE skills while supporting team administrative functions. The emphasis is on site-based learning and capability development rather than administrative work, with increasing ownership of assurance activities as competency grows. Sound like you?  This is what we’re looking for: HSSE Team Support: Maintaining HSSE registers, logs, and trackers; coordinating with JBS Manila on data accuracy in Donesafe; distributing HSSE communications; assisting with document preparation under guidance. On-Site Development: Attending project sites to understand different project types and risk environments; assisting with site inspections, safety walks, and toolbox talks; supporting site induction processes and developing observation and facilitation skills. Learning & Development: Shadowing senior team members on inspections and client interactions; working toward relevant HSSE qualifications with organizational support; demonstrating initiative and progressively taking ownership; participating in team planning and contributing improvement ideas. Personal Effectiveness: Managing workload and escalating proactively; representing the HSSE function professionally; maintaining required certifications and staying current with WHS obligations.

Tertiary qualification or Diploma in WHS/Environmental Science (or actively pursuing). Up to 2 years' experience in HSE, compliance, or project coordination (construction/property advantageous but not required). Strong organizational and written communication skills; foundational knowledge of Australian WHS legislation. Genuine interest in HSSE career development. Collaborative team orientation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint Current or willingness to obtain White Card and First Aid Ability to travel to sites across Australia Eligible for DoD security clearance (prerequisite).
