Clinical Coordinator Surgical Technologist

Indianapolis Education and Support Srvcs Center 421 N Emerson Ave Greenwood, Indiana 46143 Franciscan Health’s Surgical Technologist Clinical is an essential role, providing education and practice support to program-specific students assigned to clinical areas. They will be responsible for the organization, administration of the general effectiveness of the clinical experiences for students enroll in the program.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT In collaboration with RN educator, implement a streamlined orientation for new hires, facilitate clinical experiences, and evaluate practice and functioning in scrub role. Facilitate inter-departmental communication, especially with procedural areas (Cath Lab, OB, IR, etc.). Coordinate the orientation process for CST employees, both new hires and existing. Evaluate and assess student outcomes through appropriate assessment tools/methods; actively utilize results to inform improvements at a program and course level. Assess competency of field staff during educational sessions and identify/report areas of weakness back to management staff. Facilitate the communication process between management, staff, ancillary departments, and professional contacts across the Franciscan Alliance.

Required 3 years practical surgical technology experience Required Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) Preferred 1 year prior teaching experience with preference for teaching experience as faculty in surgical technology program Preferred Preferred Associate's Degree Preferred Bachelor's Degree TRAVEL IS REQUIRED:
