We are seeking an experienced EHS Specialist to lead Environmental, Health & Safety initiatives across our Tulsa, Oklahoma and Wichita, Kansas operations. This highly visible role partners with site leadership and employees at all levels to create and sustain a culture focused on zero accidents, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence. You will play a critical role in protecting our people, facilities, and environment while helping shape the future of EHS programs within a dynamic aerospace manufacturing environment. What You'll Do: As the EHS Specialist, you will serve as the subject matter expert and strategic leader for all environmental, health, and safety programs across both locations. Key Responsibilities:
Lead and continuously improve EHS programs, policies, systems, and initiatives that promote a strong safety-first culture.
Identify workplace hazards, assess risks, and implement effective corrective and preventive measures.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, state, local, and other applicable environmental and safety regulations.
Develop, implement, and deliver training programs to enhance employee safety awareness and regulatory compliance.
Conduct facility audits, risk assessments, and inspections to identify opportunities for improvement.
Lead accident investigations, root cause analyses, corrective actions, and near-miss reporting programs.
Maintain EHS metrics, records, reports, and regulatory documentation with accuracy and timeliness.
Serve as the primary point of contact with regulatory agencies and external auditors, as applicable.
Partner closely with managers and supervisors to coach, mentor, and strengthen EHS accountability throughout the organization.
Manage industrial hygiene programs and communicate findings to leadership while ensuring timely follow-up actions.
Oversee Safety Data Sheet (SDS) management and support domestic and international hazardous materials shipping requirements.
Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure capital projects meet all environmental, health, and safety requirements.
Support property insurance initiatives and facilitate safety audits with FM Global and other external partners.
Develop and manage EHS operating plans, budgets, and resource allocation to achieve business objectives.
What We're Looking For: Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible EHS experience within a manufacturing environment.
Experience developing, implementing, and improving EHS programs and management systems.
Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-marking, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.
Strong understanding of OSHA, EPA, and related regulatory requirements.
Excellent communication, presentation, and training facilitation skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.
High level of personal accountability and commitment to operational excellence.
Preferred Qualifications
Aerospace manufacturing experience.
Eligibility to obtain or currently hold a
Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)
Experience with industrial hygiene monitoring and environmental testing equipment.
Knowledge of hazardous materials transportation and regulatory requirements.
