Job Summary
Accounting/Finance employees will typically begin their ConocoPhillips career in Bartlesville, Oklahoma; Houston, Texas; or Midland, Texas. There are also limited opportunities available in Anchorage, Alaska. Job description and responsibilities will vary depending on the first job assignment. The Finance organization has new hire positions in Financial and Commercial Services, Financial and Performance Analysis, Treasury, and Audit.
Position
Overview Responsibilities may include: Providing accounting, business analysis, and decision support to operations and management. Typical duties could include revenue, cost or investment accounting, government reporting, working with other companies on crude, gas or product imbalances and exchanges, or internal auditing, management reporting and analysis, and credit administration. During your first year, you will attend the Finance Onboarding Program which is crafted to acclimate new hires to the company and culture. The program consists of short training sessions led by experienced Finance professionals within the company, introduces concepts of upstream oil and gas operations, and provides insight to the differentiating strategy of ConocoPhillips. The curriculum provides new hires with an overview of career development concepts and early career training and seeks to promote a team environment and establish early networks. Basic/Required: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer and/or education institution Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, other business related field, or foreign equivalent Current level in college: Senior or Graduate Student Expected graduation date: Fall 2026 through Spring/Fall 2027 Preferred: At least 9 hours of Accounting upon graduation Willing to work in any of these locations: Midland, TX A minimum cumulative and major GPA of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Builds positive relationships based on trust and seeks collaboration across organizational boundaries to achieve goals Takes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by holding others accountable and standing up for what's right Understands how key financial and quantitative indicators impact the business Drives thoughtful and pragmatic change, encourages innovative thinking and continuous improvement, and models adaptability through resourcefulness, flexibility and positivity All interested candidates must complete an online application at the ConocoPhillips Careers website to be considered for an interview.
