We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Manager, Commercial to join our Major Projects team, based in Adelaide Australia. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful delivery of commercial outcomes on our major projects. Our Senior Commercial Manager will provide commercial leadership, contract governance, and strategic advice to the Project Leadership Team to ensure timely, safe and cost-effective delivery in accordance with Worley’s Commercial Management framework and Knowledge & Management System. The position is accountable for supporting margin, cash flow, risk management, and customer outcomes, while safeguarding Worley’s contractual and commercial interests across the full project lifecycle. Your key responsibilities will include: Provide commercial and contractual leadership to proposal and project teams, including development of commercial strategies, pricing inputs, risk assessment, and participation in negotiations. Pro-actively manage and advise on all commercial and contract matters for assigned mega projects with high delivery risk, from initiation through delivery. Ensure Worley’s compliance with prime contract requirements, including briefing project teams on obligations and risks, managing change and notification processes, and supporting claims (payment claims and dispute claims) and commercial entitlements. Support the management of Worley third party contracts through the provision of commercial advice, management of disputes and assurance of contract management compliance. Monitor and drive performance against revenue, gross margin, and cash flow targets in collaboration with Project Controls and Finance, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial data. Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks and opportunities, providing sound recommendations to protect and enhance project and business outcomes. Lead or guide commercial resources on projects (Up to 2 direct reports) providing leadership, mentoring, and practical commercial advice. Provide inputs into regular Project performance reporting for commercial related performance metrics. Build and maintain effective working relationships with customers, partners, project leadership, and internal stakeholders, and prepare clear commercial summaries, reports, and formal correspondence. Apply and support the effective use of commercial systems, processes, and tools, contributing to continuous improvement in commercial management practices. About you: University degree or equivalent in a related field or discipline. Highly desirable qualifications include Construction Law, Quantity Surveying, Commerce/Business Administration. Working knowledge of Industry‑standard contract forms (e.g. EPC, EPCM, FEED, PMC; FIDIC / NEC exposure desirable), Risk identification and mitigation at project level, Change management processes and governance Ability to translate contractual risk into commercial (pricing) impact and practical mitigation actions. Experience managing: Contract compliance and obligations, notice regimes, time bars and early warnings, Variations, change control and entitlement preservation, Claims prevention and support to negotiations. Ability to brief and guide project teams on prime contract risks, obligations and behaviors. Experience working at the owner–EPCM / owner–contractor interface Complex capital performance reporting. You will be commercially disciplined, detail oriented and contract aware. Confident engaging with Project Managers, Engineering leads, Clients at working and senior working level. Pragmatic and solutions focused — able to balance contract protection with delivery reality.
