The Customer Support Business Group focuses on enabling our customers with premier customer support throughout their lifecycle with Lam. We drive performance, productivity, safety, and quality of customers installed base performance and deliver service and lifecycle solutions for their most critical equipment and processes.

Responsibilities may include a combination of the following: Hardware Development: Directs, leads, and manages the technical activities of a hardware development function for electronic design, mechanical design and/or hardware reliability. Software Development: Directs, leads, and manages the technical activities of a software development function for software systems, applications and/or software quality assurance. Systems Design: Directs, leads, and manages the technical activities of an integrated hardware/software systems design function. What you’ll do
Monitor, coordinate, and supervise daily activities of engineering operations personnel to ensure effective execution of organizational objectives. Lead department planning activities including workforce planning, staffing, onboarding, training, resource allocation, budgeting, and strategic roadmap development. Establish priorities and assign work to ensure successful execution of program deliverables and business commitments. Administer company policies, procedures, and management directives while ensuring compliance with organizational standards and best practices. Recommend and implement improvements to departmental processes, practices, and operating procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Drive department effectiveness through operational governance, performance management, and organizational development initiatives Lead execution of engineering projects and programs in accordance with approved scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements. Work closely with Program Managers, Engineering Managers, Business Units, and cross-functional stakeholders to achieve program commitments. Analyze operational challenges, assess risks, and exercise sound judgment in determining corrective actions and mitigation strategies. Ensure adherence to established engineering processes, design controls, quality systems, and technical due diligence requirements. Act as a key advisor and escalation point for project execution issues and support timely resolution of technical and operational challenges Lead continuous improvement and innovation initiatives that enhance engineering efficiency, product differentiation, and organizational capability. Communicate project status, risks, resource needs, and business performance through formal reviews and management presentations Provide direct supervision, coaching, mentoring, and performance management for professional engineers and skilled technical contributors. Set clear expectations, goals, and development plans aligned with business objectives and individual career aspirations. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 12 years of relevant experience Min. of 5+ years of product development experience with capital equipment or similar comprising electro-mechanical systems of high complexity Demonstrated leadership skill in decision making and problem-solving pertaining to engineering problems in absence of complete or accurate data. Skilled in managing interdisciplinary engineering department by managing teams for min. 4-6 years on tasks, projects, or programs by being well versed in Mechanical Engineering skills & awareness of Electro-Mechanical systems Demonstrated ability to conduct design
