Job Title: Warehouse Operative Location: Northampton Summary of Role We are seeking an organised and detail-oriented Inventory Clerk to support the effective management and accuracy of inventory operations within our Service Centre. Working closely with the Inventory Team Lead, you will assist in maintaining stock accuracy, investigating discrepancies, managing inventory processes, and supporting operational efficiency through a combination of warehouse and administrative duties.
Responsibilities
Maintain accurate inventory and slot data within the warehouse management system. Process new and discontinued product lines and update inventory records accordingly. Conduct stock counts in line with schedules and investigate stock discrepancies. Audit and process stock write-offs, batch failures, billing failures, and goods-in defaults. Manage product recalls, quarantine stock, damaged stock, and destruction processes. Carry out expiry date checks and monitor short-dated stock. Respond to and resolve stock-related queries from internal stakeholders. Support reporting, administrative tasks, and cross-functional warehouse activities as required. Skills and Knowledge High level of visual accuracy and attention to detail. Good verbal communication skills. Intermediate written communication skills. Intermediate numeracy and literacy skills. Strong customer service focus. Ability to work independently and use initiative when required. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams. Good planning, organisation, and problem-solving skills. Desirable Previous experience working within a warehouse or distribution environment. Experience in stock control or inventory management. Understanding of warehouse management systems. Knowledge of stock reconciliation processes. Experience investigating inventory discrepancies. Familiarity with pharmaceutical or healthcare distribution environments. Experience working with operational reports and data analysis. Understanding of Good Distribution Practice (GDP) principles.

High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience required.
Less than 2 years of experience in warehouse support, distribution operations, shipping, receiving, inventory control, material handling, or a related field required.
Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), or equivalent certification preferred.
Knowledge in warehouse operations processes, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, staging, and shipping. Knowledge in inventory control principles, stock movement tracking, and material traceability requirements. Knowledge in temperature-controlled handling and cold chain support requirements for sensitive products and materials. Knowledge in packaging materials, reusable shipping assets, and replenishment practices within warehouse operations. Knowledge in shipment documentation, operational recordkeeping, and transaction processing requirements. Knowledge in safe material handling practices and the use of warehouse equipment and tools. Ability to follow established warehouse procedures and standardized work instructions. Ability to maintain accurate records and update operational information in warehouse systems and logs.
