The Opportunity As an Automotive Apprentice, you’ll gain hands-on experience while completing your trade qualification, working alongside skilled technicians to maintain and repair a diverse range of military vehicles and equipment that are critical to New Zealand Defence Force operations. You’ll learn on the job, build practical skills and develop a strong foundation for a rewarding career in the automotive industry. Key responsibilities Assist qualified technicians with vehicle servicing, maintenance, and repairs Support vehicle repairs to meet WOF, COF, safety and operational standards. Build your technical skills through structured on-the-job training Learning diagnostic and fault-finding techniques Carrying out inspections under supervision Maintaining workshop tools, equipment, and work areas What you will bring Pre-trade technical training or work experience within the trade essential NCEA Level 1 Full Class 1 motor vehicle Licence Self-motivated, enthusiastic and willing to learn A strong work ethic and willingness to learn An ability to meet and maintain a NZ Security Clearance
