Job Description
We are seeking a detail oriented and motivated Lab Technician, Chemistry to support analytical testing, sample preparation, laboratory operations, and research activities. The Lab Technician will work closely with chemists and scientists to prepare samples, operate analytical instruments, maintain laboratory equipment, document results, and support routine quality control and research projects. The ideal candidate should have strong laboratory skills, excellent attention to detail, and an interest in analytical chemistry and natural products.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare samples, standards, reagents, and solutions for chemical analysis. Perform routine laboratory testing using analytical instruments such as GC MS, GC FID, HPLC, LC MS/MS, and related laboratory equipment. Assist with instrument operation, calibration, routine maintenance, and basic troubleshooting. Follow established SOPs, analytical methods, and laboratory procedures. Maintain accurate laboratory records, sample information, analytical data, and documentation. Review analytical results for obvious abnormalities, contamination, carryover, or instrument related issues. Support routine chemical composition and quality control testing. Receive, label, organize, track, and properly store laboratory samples. Maintain laboratory supplies, solvents, chemicals, reference standards, and consumables. Maintain laboratory glassware, work areas, and equipment in a clean and organized condition. Assist scientists with research projects, method development, method validation, and experimental studies. Follow laboratory safety procedures, chemical handling requirements, and waste disposal guidelines. Participate in laboratory quality assurance and continuous improvement activities. Perform other laboratory related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Technology, Pharmaceutical Science, Biotechnology, Biology, or a related scientific field. Basic knowledge of analytical chemistry and laboratory techniques. Experience with sample preparation, weighing, pipetting, solution preparation, and laboratory equipment. Ability to follow written procedures and SOPs accurately. Strong attention to detail, organization, and documentation skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a laboratory environment. Good written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in an analytical chemistry, quality control, pharmaceutical, food, fragrance, essential oil, environmental, or natural products laboratory. Hands on experience with GC MS, GC FID, HPLC, or LC MS/MS. Basic understanding of chromatography and mass spectrometry. Experience preparing calibration standards and performing quantitative chemical analysis. Familiarity with laboratory software and data management systems.
