Job Description
Start here. Grow here. At AECOM, we're recruiting for a Senior Project Manager to join our growing Project Management team in Cork.
About the Role
AECOM is looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex healthcare and education projects across Cork and the wider Munster region. This is an excellent opportunity for a project management professional with a strong track record of delivering capital projects, ideally within the public sector. You will be responsible for managing projects throughout their lifecycle, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing client relationships, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the required quality and governance standards. The role will involve working closely with public sector clients, design teams, contractors, and specialist consultants to deliver high-quality healthcare facilities and education buildings that provide long-term value to communities.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the successful delivery of healthcare and education projects through all stages of the project lifecycle, from business case, planning and design through procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover. Act as a key point of contact for clients, developing strong and effective relationships with senior stakeholders, public sector organisations, consultants, contractors, and statutory authorities. Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring effective collaboration across project management, cost management, design, engineering, and specialist consultancy disciplines. Develop, implement, and maintain project execution plans, programmes, budgets, procurement strategies, risk registers, and reporting frameworks. Monitor project performance against agreed programme, cost, scope, quality, and risk objectives, taking proactive action to address issues and maximise project outcomes. Manage project risks and opportunities, ensuring appropriate mitigation measures are identified, implemented, and regularly reviewed. Support and lead procurement activities in accordance with Irish public procurement legislation and relevant forms of contract. Coordinate the activities of design teams, contractors, and other project stakeholders to ensure effective project delivery and resolution of issues. Prepare clear and concise project reports, progress updates, dashboards, and recommendations for clients and senior management. Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, environmental requirements, quality management systems, and AECOM governance standards. Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management processes, procedures, and best practice across the wider team. Provide
