Work Schedule Standard (Mon-Fri) Environmental Conditions Office Job Description Role: Scientist- Bioanalytical This is a fully onsite role based at our customer’s site in Collegeville, PA. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check, which includes a drug screening. Provide routine laboratory and operational support for reagent management activities. Responsibilities include critical reagent preparation, inventory management, data entry, documentation, shipment coordination, and general laboratory organization. The worker will support ongoing projects by executing established procedures under the guidance of GSK staff.
Key Responsibilities
Basic knowledge of protein purification and characterization techniques. Familiarity with protein analysis techniques, including HPLC, UV-Vis/A280 concentration measurements, SDS-PAGE, and basic data interpretation. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook). Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Experience with AKTA, HPLC, FPLC, or similar chromatography systems for protein purification and characterization. Experience with antibody conjugation and related bioconjugation techniques. Experience with ligand binding assays (LBA), including ELISA and other immunoassay-based analytical methods.
Basic Requirements
BS degree with 2-4 years of experience in an appropriate subject area Is technically proficient in a number of formulation/process development techniques. Has good knowledge of GMP and GLP requirements, SOPs and policies Has operational knowledge of routine laboratory/plant equipment In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role. Working Conditions and Environment: • Work is performed in a laboratory and/or a clinical environment with exposure to electrical office equipment. • Occasional drives to site locations, occasional domestic travel. • Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms. • Rare exposure to skin and lung irritants, radiation, toxic materials and hazardous waste. • Personal protective equipment required such as protective eyewear, garments and gloves. • Exposure to fluctuating and/or extreme temperatures on rare occasions. Physical Requirements: • Ability to work in an upright and /or stationary position for 6-8 hours per day. • Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists to operate lab equipment. • Occasional mobility needed. • Occasional crouching, stooping, with frequent bending and twisting of upper body and neck. • Light to moderate lifting and carrying (or otherwise moves) objects including luggage and laptop computer with a maximum lift of 15-20 lbs.
