Job Title: Engineer I - Sr Lead PS Job Title: Engineer, Sr Lead Work Place Flexibility: Onsite Legal Entity: Entergy Services, LLC JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE The Project Engineer within the Power Generation (PGEN) Project Management Organization provides technical leadership across engineering, procurement, and construction to deliver projects for Entergy’s generation fleet including solar PV, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and capacity uprates. The role translates requirements into executable plans, coordinates internal and external partners, and ensures safety, reliability, schedule, budget, and quality. JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead with safety and compliance; enforce regulatory requirements, industry codes/standards, and Entergy engineering guidelines. Develop, review, and control technical specifications, engineering packages, and project design documentation; champion change/modification processes and configuration management. Coordinate cross‑functional stakeholders (engineering & technical support, operations, asset management, environmental, supply chain, power development, commercial) to align requirements and execution. Provide technical oversight of EPC contractors, OEMs, Owner’s Engineers, and consultants throughout design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup. Support equipment/vendor evaluations, review technical proposals, review performance data & cost/benefit analysis; recommend fit‑for‑purpose selections. Own technical RFIs and contract scope change requests; ensure timely, documented decisions. Monitor schedule/cost/quality; identify risks/issues and implement engineering solutions to maintain targets. Conduct site visits and constructability reviews; resolve field engineering issues and support commissioning/startup activities. Develop scopes, estimates, schedules, and risk assessments during early‑stage development and capital planning. Integrate new renewable/storage assets with existing generation systems, including performance modeling and grid‑interconnection requirements. Lead and document technical reviews (design reviews, hazard analyses) and capture/deploy lessons learned. Trend system performance via walkdowns and analyses; identify deficiencies, drive corrective actions, and perform failure evaluations/root‑cause analyses/causal determinations. Prepare engineering deliverables to established standards, procedures, and quality expectations; maintain required qualifications/training. Maintain strong, transparent communication with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure alignment and successful project delivery.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Minimum education required of the position Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related discipline) from an ABET‑accredited program; OR a related physical science discipline associated with power‑plant operations or construction management with equivalent experience. Engineer I: 0–2 years in power generation, energy, industrial facilities, or related fields. Engineer II: 2–3 years progressive engineering experience in power generation, energy, industrial facilities, or related fields. Engineer III: 4–5 years in power generation, energy, industrial facilities, or related fields with increasing responsibility in project engineering, system design, technical analyses, or major equipment integration. Senior Engineer: 6-7 years in power generation, energy, industrial facilities, or related fields with significant responsibility in project engineering, system design, plant operations, or major equipment integration. Senior Lead Engineer: 8+ years in power generation, energy, industrial facilities, or related fields with significant responsibility in project engineering, system design, plant operations, or major equipment integration.
