What you'll do: Job Summary: Support the development, validation, and improvement of packaging solutions for Eaton’s electrical products, initially focused on circuit breaker product lines. This role assists engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams in executing packaging trials, collecting basic performance data, and maintaining documentation. The position provides hands-on support in production environments and packaging processes, following established guidelines and procedures, with the opportunity to expand support to additional product lines as experience develops.
Job Responsibilities
Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of packaging solutions for circuit breaker product lines, including print-on-demand label activities. Assist in packaging trials, line validations, and production floor testing, following established procedures and engineering guidance. Collect, organize, and maintain packaging performance data related to product damage, material utilization, packaging costs, validation activities, and operational efficiency. Maintain packaging metrics, dashboards, scorecards, and project tracking tools to provide visibility of packaging activities, priorities, and performance. Prepare, update, and maintain packaging documentation, including specifications, work instructions, bills of materials, validation records, test reports, and engineering change documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established requirements. Coordinate packaging-related activities with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, sourcing, and engineering teams to support packaging changes, product launches, validations, and continuous improvement initiatives. Track project deliverables, action items, and implementation plans, following up with responsible team members to support timely completion and closure. Monitor and communicate status of packaging projects, validations, and improvement initiatives through routine reports, dashboards, presentations, and team updates. Perform packaging tests and evaluations, including package integrity assessments, material evaluations, and transportation-related testing in accordance with established procedures. Assist in identifying and troubleshooting packaging-related issues during production and validation activities, documenting findings and supporting corrective actions. Support implementation of packaging engineering changes by coordinating activities, maintaining records, and ensuring required documentation is completed and updated. Maintain organized records of packaging projects, testing activities, validation documentation, and engineering deliverables to support audits, compliance requirements, and knowledge retention. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, waste elimination, packaging quality enhancement, and process standardization. Follow all established safety, quality, regulatory, and compliance requirements in daily activities. Expand support to additional product lines, packaging programs, and engineering initiatives as knowledge and experience develop. Requirements: Education level required: Bachelor’s degree in engineering fields or a related discipline. Years and area of experience required: Minimum of 3 years of related experience in engineering support and operational functions within manufacturing or technical environments, preferably in packaging. Technical knowledge: Basic understanding of packaging materials, packaging methods, and packaging testing principles. Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and production environments. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other data management tools for tracking metrics, analyzing trends, and maintaining dashboards.
