Job Area: Engineering Group, Engineering Group > Software Engineering General Summary: Build the Platform Powering the Future of Edge AI Join Edge Impulse as an Infrastructure/SRE Engineer and help scale the cloud platform behind millions of machine learning workflows. You'll work with modern cloud-native technologies including AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Karpenter, Cilium, ArgoCD, and Buildkite to build reliable, secure, and cost-efficient infrastructure. This is more than a traditional infrastructure role. You'll help shape the platform that enables engineers worldwide to train, deploy, and manage ML models at scale across both CPU and GPU workloads. Your decisions will directly influence system reliability, developer productivity, cloud efficiency, and the evolution of our AI platform. Why join us? • Work on cutting-edge AI and MLOps infrastructure that powers real-world Edge AI applications • Help shape the platform strategy and technical direction of a fast-growing company • Operate large-scale Kubernetes environments supporting both CPU and GPU workloads • Tackle interesting challenges at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, machine learning, performance, and cost optimization • Work with modern cloud-native technologies including Kubernetes, Terraform, Cilium, Karpenter, ArgoCD, Buildkite, and Datadog • Join a highly collaborative, remote-first engineering culture with a strong focus on autonomy and ownership • Contribute to open-source technologies and industry best practices • Make a direct impact on a platform used by developers and enterprises around the world • Grow your expertise across infrastructure, security, networking, platform engineering, and AI workloads What you'll do • Design, build, and evolve AWS infrastructure using Terraform across multiple production environments • Scale Kubernetes clusters running both CPU and GPU workloads, improving performance, reliability, and cost efficiency • Enhance our Cilium-powered networking stack, driving visibility, security, and connectivity across services • Build and improve CI/CD workflows using Buildkite to help engineering teams ship faster and more confidently • Operate GitOps-driven deployments with ArgoCD, automated validations, and progressive delivery strategies • Develop internal developer platform tooling in TypeScript and automation frameworks that reduce operational toil • Expand observability across the platform using Datadog dashboards, metrics, logs, and alerting • Strengthen platform security through modern secrets management, access controls, and infrastructure best practices • Participate in incident response, capacity planning, and cloud cost optimization efforts that have company-wide impact We'd love to hear from you if you have • Experience in SRE, Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Cloud Infrastructure roles • Strong AWS expertise, particularly with EKS, IAM, VPC, RDS, and S3 • Hands-on experience managing infrastructure with Terraform • Solid Kubernetes knowledge including networking, RBAC, autoscaling, and cluster operations • Experience with Cilium, eBPF networking, service mesh technologies, or an interest in becoming an expert in this space • Familiarity with GitOps practices and tools such as ArgoCD • Experience building CI/CD pipelines using Buildkite or similar platforms • Proficiency in TypeScript, Python, Bash, or other infrastructure-focused languages • A passion for building reliable systems and improving developer experience • Strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a distributed, remote-first environment #edgeimpulse Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
