COMPENSATION

Factors that may be used to determine rate of pay include specific skills, work location, work experience and other individualized factors Position Summary: This role is a 6-month training program that leads the successful candidate to a permanent assignment in one of Sysco’s Commercial functions . The trainee will rotate through multiple areas f ulfilling day-to-day responsibilities in areas such as Merchandising, Inventory Management, Logistics, Revenue Management, and Food Safety & Quality Assurance. The training program utilizes role-based education, competency development, and application learning to enhance end- to- end understanding of Sysco’s supply chain and product management processes that ensure the right assortment, in-stock, at the right price . Upon completion of the program, the colleague will be matched to open Commercial roles that match their demonstrated capabilities and career interest. Responsibilities: Participate in department rotations and training modules regarding Supply Chain & Logistics, SCIM, Category Management, Operations Merchandising, FSQA, or Growth. Perform daily functions within assigned rotations to directly support operational deliverables. Complete structured development modules covering core business topics. Participate in site visits with operating centers, customers, and suppliers alongside Sysco leadership to gain firsthand insight into enterprise operations and external partnerships. Performs the duties of employees supervised and other related duties as needed. Trainees will work with and be mentored by managers and leaders with the goal of providing hands-on experience across health/safety, analytics/operations, frontline floor management, industrial engineering and transportation.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and / or Experience: BS or BA undergraduate degree required (preferred fields include Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Data Science/Analytics, Merchandising, Food Science, or Hospitality Management). Demonstrated leadership, time management, collaboration, and problem-solving through internships, student organizations, volunteering, or relevant work experience. ABILITIES AND SKILLS: Proven leadership and problem-solving skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Identify various business issues and provide solutions via research. Ability to manage competing priorities, handle multiple assignments, and manage ambiguity. Ability to analyze complex issues, reason, think critically, and synthesize information. Demonstrate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word) and ability to learn Sysco technology software and programs.
