Job Description
Consultant/Manager Software Engineering (SS&C Technologies, Inc.; Windsor, CT): The Consultant/Manager Software Engineering will work in a technical environment for software development consisting of multiple system platforms and a variety of methodologies, techniques, languages, tools, and utilities. Specific responsibilities of the Consultant/Manager Software Engineering include: Analyzing, designing, developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining or supporting information technology solutions by creating new and/or modifying existing software applications that provide a business function for the organization or its customers. Initiatives may range from small enhancements through the largest, most complex development projects. Leading medium to large projects or working on complex or high-profile issues that require a broad perspective, conceptual thinking, and in-depth analysis to identify solutions. Leading a process or function without direct reports. Developing policies and procedures and recommending best practices. Advising and providing direction to more junior professionals. 5% of domestic travel to SS&C offices and conferences. Telecommuting permitted.
Minimum requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field plus 7 years of experience in a software engineering role. Alternately will accept, Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field plus 5 years of experience in a software engineering role Must have : Demonstrates a depth and breadth of expertise within a discipline, and has a deep understanding of the business, financials, products/services, or market. 5 years of experience with JavaScript, Node.JS, Python, Rest API, and JSON. 5 years of experience with Distributed and Concurrent Systems, Multithreading, Asynchronous Programming Model, Event-Driven Programming Environment, Microservices, and Performance and Scalability concepts. 3 years of experience with NoSQL Databases, such as MongoDB or Cassandra. 3 years of experience with Application Caching, such as Redis. Expertise in container orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes. Knowledge of DevOps Practices and CI/CD pipelines.
