Quality Engineering Co-op

The Quality Engineering Co-op will support the Quality team in maintaining and improving product and process quality across manufacturing operations. This role provides hands-on experience in quality assurance, root cause analysis, continuous improvement, and regulatory compliance while working closely with cross-functional teams. The co-op will gain exposure to industry-standard quality tools and methodologies and contribute to initiatives that enhance customer satisfaction and operational excellence.

Support quality assurance activities by assisting in the development and execution of quality control plans, inspection procedures, and quality monitoring processes. Participate in audits and inspections of manufacturing processes and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer requirements. Assist in investigating customer-reported quality concerns and nonconformances, utilizing problem-solving tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA). Support the implementation, tracking, and verification of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address root causes and prevent recurrence. Collect, analyze, and interpret quality data to identify trends, process deviations, and opportunities for improvement. Apply statistical methods to evaluate process capability, product performance, and overall quality effectiveness. Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, nonconformances, corrective actions, and other quality records. Prepare reports, presentations, and quality metrics for internal reviews, management updates, and customer communications. Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and other cross-functional teams to improve processes, reduce defects, and enhance product quality. Participate in Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence. Support compliance with ISO 9001:2015 requirements, customer specifications, and internal quality procedures. Assist with internal audits and help prepare the organization for external audits and regulatory assessments. Attend training sessions on quality systems, industry standards, and company procedures while developing technical and professional skills. Shadow experienced quality professionals to gain practical knowledge of quality engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and problem-solving techniques.

Pursuing a degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Familiarity with quality tools, statistical analysis, Lean principles, or Six Sigma methodologies is preferred.
