About this role
Your Team
Responsibilities MSCI's Workplace Technology (WPT) team delivers reliable, secure, and innovative technology experiences across our global offices. We provide end-to-end digital workplace services — from endpoint management and collaboration tools to AV systems, networking infrastructure, and on-site event technology. Our teams are embedded across 11 facilities globally, supporting 30+ sites in total. The Tokyo office is a strategically important, client-facing location with growing operational demands including frequent internal and external events, VIP visits, and the need for local Japanese-speaking vendor and building management coordination. As MSCI continues to invest in AI-driven automation and modern workplace solutions, the WPT team is expanding dedicated on-site support in key APAC offices to ensure operational excellence, reduce dependency on travel and third-party site-hand costs, and deliver proactive, high-quality service to the business. Your Key Responsibilities On-Site IT Support & Incident Management: Serve as the primary on-site Workplace Technology engineer for the Tokyo office, providing hands-on support for laptops, desktops, printers, peripherals, and mobile devices. Manage and resolve incidents and service requests via ServiceNow, ensuring timely prioritization, SLA adherence, and quality resolution. Provide advanced troubleshooting for Windows 11, macOS, Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, VPN, remote connectivity, and enterprise applications. Support employee onboarding and offboarding — device provisioning, account setup, workstation configuration, and asset lifecycle management. Provide remote support to users working from home and assist with regional sites as needed. Audio Visual & Event Technology Support: Manage and maintain AV systems in conference rooms, collaboration spaces, and executive boardrooms. Provide end-to-end IT and AV support for internal events (town halls, all-hands, leadership sessions) and external client-facing events. Ensure seamless technology delivery during VIP and executive visits, client presentations, and investor meetings. Network, Infrastructure & Vendor Coordination: Support and troubleshoot Wi-Fi, network access points, LAN/WAN connectivity, and telecom infrastructure. Act as the local liaison with Japanese-speaking vendors, building management, and telecom/network service providers. Coordinate with regional and global infrastructure teams for escalations, change management, and project delivery. Support office moves, workspace reconfigurations, and facility technology upgrades. Projects, Automation & Continuous Improvement: Participate in and lead local aspects of global and regional WPT projects (office buildouts, technology refreshes, platform migrations). Contribute to AI and automation initiatives — identify opportunities to leverage AI tools (e.g. Intelligent ticket triage, self-service automation) to reduce manual workload and improve service delivery. Proactively identify recurring issues, propose root-cause solutions, and contribute to knowledge base articles. Stay current with emerging workplace technologies, AI developments, and industry best practices. Your skills and experience that will help you excel Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. 3+ years of experience supporting a global Windows desktop environment with advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Strong knowledge of Windows 11, macOS, Microsoft 365, Azure Active Directory / Entra ID, Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, and modern endpoint management. Experience with collaboration and conferencing solutions (Microsoft Teams, Zoom), VPN, Wi-Fi, and VDI environments. Hands-on experience with AV systems – conference room setups, digital signage, and live event technology. Proficiency with ITSM platforms, preferably ServiceNow, including incident, request, and asset management workflows.
