The Opportunity
As an HR Business Partner at Caterpillar, you will serve as a strategic partner to business leaders, aligning people initiatives with organisational objectives to drive business performance and support Caterpillar's commitment to excellence, innovation, and employee engagement. Working closely with leaders across the organisation, you will provide expert guidance on workforce planning, organisational design, leadership development, employee engagement, and change management. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will leverage people insights and data-driven recommendations to influence decision-making, build organisational capability, and foster a high-performance culture. The HR Business Partner will play a key role in translating business strategy into effective people solutions while ensuring compliance with employment legislation, company policies, and Caterpillar's values.
What You Will Do
Partner with business leaders to develop and execute people strategies that support organisational goals and drive business performance. Provide strategic and operational HR guidance on workforce planning, organisational design, succession planning, and talent management. Act as a trusted advisor to leaders on employee relations matters, ensuring consistent application of company policies and employment legislation. Coach and develop managers to strengthen leadership capability, employee engagement, and team effectiveness. Support performance management processes, including goal setting, talent reviews, performance improvement planning, and development discussions. Use workforce data, HR metrics, and business insights to identify trends, inform decision-making, and recommend solutions. Lead and support change management initiatives, helping leaders and employees navigate organisational change effectively. Partner with Talent Acquisition teams to support hiring strategies, workforce requirements, and employer branding initiatives. Drive employee engagement activities and action plans to create a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture. Collaborate with Centres of Excellence to deliver key HR programmes, including compensation, benefits, learning and development, and diversity and inclusion initiatives. Support annual HR cycles such as performance reviews, salary planning, succession planning, and talent assessments.
