Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use. We are looking for a motivated IT Working Student to support our IT team in documentation, data analytics, and project management activities. This role is ideal for a student pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Business Informatics, or a related field who is interested in gaining practical experience in digital transformation, AI, and IT operations. The successful candidate will help improve documentation quality, analyze data to support decision-making, contribute to AI-related initiatives, and assist project managers in coordinating activities across multiple stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Documentation & Knowledge Management
Create, maintain, and improve IT process documentation, work instructions, and technical guides. Support the development of knowledge bases, SharePoint sites, and project documentation repositories. Ensure documentation is accurate, structured, and aligned with organizational standards. Assist in preparing presentations, reports, and management summaries.
Data Analytics & Reporting
Collect, clean, and analyze data from multiple IT systems and sources. Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations using tools such as Power BI or Excel. Support KPI tracking and performance reporting. Identify trends and provide insights to support business and IT decisions.
AI & Digitalization Support
Assist with AI-related use cases, proof-of-concepts, and automation initiatives. Support the evaluation and adoption of Generative AI tools and data-driven solutions. Help prepare datasets and documentation for AI projects. Research emerging AI technologies and industry best practices.
Project Management Support
Assist project managers with project planning, tracking, and coordination. Maintain action item lists, project schedules, and status reports. Support meeting preparation, documentation, and follow-up activities. Coordinate communication between technical teams and business stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in:
Computer Science Information Technology Business Informatics Data Science Engineering or related discipline
Basic understanding of IT infrastructure, applications, and business processes. Strong analytical and
