About the Role
We are seeking a Systems Analyst to support the technical upgrade and ongoing enhancement of clients' hosted Charles River Investment Management Solution (CRIMS) environments. This role focuses on analysing application environments, assessing upgrade readiness, troubleshooting issues, supporting testing and validation activities, and coordinating technical activities across multiple teams. Working closely with client technology teams, internal engineering teams, database administrators, infrastructure teams, and product specialists, you will help ensure upgrades are delivered successfully while maintaining platform stability and reliability. The role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to investigate issues across complex enterprise systems, and the capability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. In addition to supporting individual client upgrades, you will help identify opportunities to improve processes, standardise procedures, enhance validation activities, and improve the overall client upgrade experience.
Responsibilities
Support the planning and execution of CRIMS platform upgrades across client environments. Analyse application configurations, integrations, technical dependencies, and environment readiness for upgrade activities. Support installation, testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), production cutover, and post-upgrade validation activities. Investigate and troubleshoot application, configuration, database, integration, connectivity, and data-related issues. Perform root cause analysis and work with engineering, infrastructure, database, product, and client teams to resolve technical issues. Review logs, system outputs, database queries, and monitoring information to identify and diagnose problems. Support development, test, UAT, and production environments throughout the upgrade lifecycle. Assist with release planning, deployment preparation, production support, and post-release verification activities. Identify risks, issues, dependencies, and improvement opportunities throughout upgrade projects. Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, upgrade runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and validation checklists. Support incident, problem, release, and change management processes. Capture lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across upgrade and operational processes. Communicate technical findings, issues, risks, and progress effectively to internal teams and client stakeholders. The Successful Candidate Should Have: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Information Systems, or a related discipline. Approximately 3-7 years of relevant experience in systems analysis, application support, production support, software implementations, enterprise applications, or a related technical role. Experience supporting complex enterprise applications and production environments. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate issues across multiple technology components. Good SQL and relational database skills, with experience using technologies such as SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, DB2, Snowflake, or similar platforms. Experience participating in application upgrades, deployments, migrations, software releases, or implementation projects. Understanding of enterprise application architectures, integrations, and technical dependencies. Experience supporting applications hosted in cloud environments or a good understanding of cloud technologies and services. Understanding of incident management, root cause analysis, release management, and change management processes. Ability to work effectively across application, infrastructure, database, engineering, operations, and client teams. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
