**Description**

As an intern with Textron, you’ll gain hands\-on experience while exploring your interests and building new skills\. You’ll be supported and challenged to contribute in meaningful ways – working on real projects alongside experienced professionals to prepare for future success\.

This is an opportunity to be immersed in the culture of a leading general aviation manufacturer, home to two iconic brands: Cessna and Beechcraft\. In this role, you’ll collaborate with and learn from our experienced Industrial Design staff\. The open office layout encourages cross\-disciplinary teamwork with design, mechanical, and electrical experts driving new product development\. From small single\-engine aircraft to super\-midsized jets, the design projects span a wide range\. Your primary focus will be interior development, where you’ll integrate technology and human factors to enhance the cabin experience\.

+ At a minimum, fully understand and follow the project design brief and produce requested deliverables on time\.

+ Based on project scope, preform thorough research, ideation, concept generation, and design refinement\.

+ Support Human Factor mockups to inform design development\.

+ Ask questions, challenge the status quo, and bring a high level of enthusiasm and creativity\.

+ Be collaborative\. Work through solutions with Engineering, Interior Design, and other technical groups and interns\.

+ Build engaging presentations that communicate your design journey and final solutions\.

+ There is much to learn in this 10\-week experience \- take advantage of as many intern events as possible and participate in facility tours at both east and west campuses\.

Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Transportation Design, Product Design or other relative design discipline\.

+ Excellent visual communication skills

+ Experience with Adobe Suite products, CAD modeling and rendering software

+ Professional and diplomatic demeanor

+ Strong sense of accountability and integrity

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills

+ Time management skills to support multiple concurrent projects

+ Ability to deal with change and work in a dynamic environment

+ Proficient in use of standard Microsoft Office programs
