This collaborative environment delivers FRESH THINKING, reassuring our customers that they choose the best when they choose to work with the people of Dover Food Retail.   Job Title:        New Product Development / Design to Value Engineer              Location:         Richmond, VA                What we are looking for:   We are looking for a New Product Development / Design to Value ( NPD/DTV) Engineer to be responsible for the development of refrigerated merchandisers, as well as cost reduction efforts on the existing product lines.    What you will be responsible for in this role:

Apply value engineering methodologies to optimize cost position on existing products. Collaborate with Strategic Sourcing and Manufacturing Engineering to implement cost saving projects. Manage the DTV project from concept to completion, including scheduling and cross functional communication Brainstorm new and innovative solutions to achieve the product standardization and modularity. Develop CAD solid models and engineering simulation of proposed concepts. Collaborate with Product Management to validate the solution with the customer. Develop a test plan and work with the Engineering Lab to validate the solution. Conduct field tests to validate the solution.

Ability to manage multiple projects, demonstrates capability to solve difficult and complex problems

What are the basic qualifications?

B.S. in Engineering 1-3 years of experience in design of industrial products

What are the preferred qualifications?

Experience with product design and solid modeling in a manufacturing environment.

Experience in refrigeration, air conditioning, dehumidifier, sealed-system, airflow thermal management, or similar, design theory and application

Experience in practical application of Six Sigma and Lean tools MS Mechanical Engineering

Strong track record of NPD and DTV accomplishments Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a high degree of product and process complexity Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a matrixed, functional organization with the ability to influence stakeholders in various functional groups Innovative mind with ability to generate solutions to customer needs Organized with business case analyses and reporting of project status Proficient at MCAD modeling of proposed solutions Lean/Six Sigma experience a plus
