Role description: Arcadis is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Co-op Project Assistant – Civil & Utilities to join our team for the Winter 2027 Co-op term. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a student to gain practical experience supporting civil infrastructure and utility coordination projects. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders, assisting with project planning, data analysis, documentation, and coordination tasks essential for the delivery of high-quality infrastructure projects. Role accountabilities: Civil Design & Drafting
Utilize AutoCAD and Civil 3D (C3D) to prepare and update engineering drawings, site plans, and utility layouts. Assist in the creation and modification of grading plans, alignments, profiles, cross-sections, and detail drawings. Support the design team in ensuring drawings are accurate, complete, and compliant with project standards and requirements. Organize and manage digital drawing files and documentation.
Utility Coordination
Assist in compiling and updating utility information provided by design teams, consultants, and utility providers, ensuring integration into project drawings. Help document and track coordination with utility companies and municipal partners, including meeting minutes and correspondence. Maintain accurate records of utility data and coordination activities.
Project and Team Support
Provide logistical support for project meetings, workshops, and field activities, including scheduling, communication, and materials preparation. Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to integrate best practices and innovative tools into project delivery. Support the team with general administrative tasks and contribute to ongoing process improvements.
Qualifications & Experience
Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Engineering, Urban Planning, Construction Management another relevant discipline Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and MicroStation. Analytical and Organizational Skills: Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Communication and Collaboration: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
