As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines. Our mission is to grow and promote Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) to enable everyone to grow in their work and community by delivering an effective and collaborative EHS program that is recognized for its integrity, partnership, and care. Our organization is committed to protecting the physical, emotional, and mental health of our teams through proactive and engaging EHS Programs and Services. Onsite presence required at least 3 days per week (extendable based on business needs).

Act as a key contributor to continuous improvement across Google's EHS operations by building trusted relationships with program stakeholders, including managing expectations of program stakeholders and ensuring they have the insights they need to make effective decisions. Manage the full lifecycle of programs, proactively identifying, organizing, and leading program activities that drive impactful business, operational, and technical improvements within the EHS domain. Define and address undefined cross-functional and cross-organizational challenges, utilizing program management methodologies to effectively monitor and manage programs and stakeholders. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree EHS, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent practical experience. 2 years of experience managing EHS compliance/systems. 2 years of experience managing EHS program/project management. Experience conducting EHS Risk Assessments and overseeing workplace hazard control measures. Ability to communicate in Japanese and English fluently to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to travel for domestic and international trips up to 50%. Preferred qualifications: Possession of statutory Japanese certifications, such as Health Supervisor (衛生管理者), Pollution Control Manager (公害管理者), Hazardous Materials Engineer (危険物取扱者) or Fire Defense Equipment Officer (消防設備士). Possession of internationally recognized EHS related certifications/ courses. Experience managing multi-site portfolios and coordinating with third-party vendors. Experience of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, certified internal/lead auditor. Passion for safety and environmental sustainability.
