About this role
The Corporate Development team at JPMorgan Chase is responsible for identifying and negotiating strategic partnerships at Chase across our retail banking businesses. Corporate Development is at the heart of many of the most important strategic and business decisions at Chase and these partnerships are critical to the firm's ability to execute on its core strategies and meet the needs of our customers in a rapidly changing financial services ecosystem. As a Corporate Development Vice President in Business Banking Strategic Partnerships, you will be responsible for working closely with the Business Bank to identify and execute strategic partnerships. The Business Bank is responsible for serving millions of small and midsize businesses across the country and is a rapidly growing business at Chase. This is a highly visible position that will encompass strategic analysis, deal negotiation, as well as leading through influence across a large, multifaceted organization. You will work with senior stakeholders externally and internally, including JP Morgan Chase's most senior executive leaders. You will build many different skills including strategy, project management, stakeholder management, and negotiation.
Job Responsibilities
Lead the evaluation, negotiation, and execution of strategic partnerships for the Business Bank Collaborate with finance, legal and other functional partners to develop business cases and deal constructs and ensure compliance of deal control process Provide updates to senior executives on deal work Maintain strong connectivity with other partnership teams Monitor external environment for competitive developments and potential partnership opportunities and share perspectives with key line of business partners Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills: 7+ years of partnership of business development experience Proven ability to negotiate commercial deals and create value Ability to influence across levels and drive progress in a matrix organization Experience both negotiating product and distribution partnerships, as well as experience in retail banking Strong project management skills Strong written & verbal communication skills, strong PowerPoint / Excel skills Comfortable operating a dynamic fast pace and sometimes unstructured environment Bachelors Degree in Finance, Economics, or other related field Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills: Experience developing partnership strategy, not just executing deals Experience negotiating deals specifically in or with financial services or technology companies Experience with product integration or distribution partnerships SaaS partnership experience in relevant domains such as banking, fintech, accounting, or payments Consulting, investment banking, PE, or product manager background
