 Summary: Presbyterian Healthcare Services (PHS) seeks a highly analytical, collaborative, and strategically minded finance leader to serve as its inaugural Director, Financial Reporting – Net Patient Revenue. This role represents a significant opportunity to shape and modernize one of the most critical financial functions within a large, integrated healthcare system. As healthcare reimbursement models continue to evolve and financial complexity increases, accurate net patient revenue reporting has become a strategic imperative. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Finance Strategy, this leader will establish standardized processes, improve financial transparency, and strengthen accountability across the enterprise. The Director will serve as the organization's subject matter expert for net patient revenue accounting, reporting, forecasting, and reconciliation. This role will play a central part in implementing new revenue analytics and estimation technologies, including Kodiak Revenue Cycle Analytics, while partnering with Revenue Cycle, Government Reimbursement, Financial Reporting, and Operational leadership to enhance reporting accuracy and support critical business decisions. The successful candidate will combine deep technical accounting expertise with healthcare financial acumen, process improvement capabilities, and the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable business insights. Work Arrangement Remote: Open to applicants in the United States, excluding CA, IL, ND, NY, OH, WA, and WY. Hybrid: For individuals within 60 miles of Albuquerque, in-office presence is required Tuesday through Thursday.
Job Description
Financial Reporting & Revenue Accounting Oversee all financial reporting activities related to net patient revenue, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with U.S. GAAP and healthcare reimbursement requirements. Lead the accounting and reporting processes associated with net patient revenue across hospital and professional billing operations. Coordinate preparation of quarterly continuing bond disclosures, including management discussion and analysis. Ensure accurate accounting, reporting, and reconciliation of the HDAA directed payments program. Collaborate closely with Government Reimbursement teams to ensure proper reporting of Medicare, Medicaid, and other governmental payment programs. Serve as the organizational subject matter expert for net patient revenue accounting and reporting methodologies. Net Patient Revenue Forecasting & Analytics Lead forecasting activities related to net patient revenue, contractual allowances, and reimbursement trends. Oversee implementation and optimization of the contractual discounts and allowances (CD&A) estimation tool. Ensure accurate estimation of revenue reserves and contractual adjustments. Provide executive leadership with actionable insights regarding revenue performance, emerging risks, and reimbursement trends. Develop and enhance reporting capabilities to improve visibility into net patient revenue performance. Process Improvement & Systems Optimization Standardize enterprise-wide processes for net patient revenue reporting, forecasting, and reconciliation. Lead efforts to improve reporting accuracy, efficiency, and scalability. Partner with Finance Systems and IT teams to optimize data flow between revenue cycle, billing, and financial reporting systems. Support implementation and integration of Kodiak Revenue Cycle Analytics for Hospital and Physician Billing. Participate in strategic finance initiatives, including cost accounting modernization and Strata implementation efforts. Revenue Reconciliation & Financial Integrity Establish standardized reconciliation processes across hospital and professional billing systems.
