Standard Job Description 
 Lockheed Martin is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to support Quality & Mission Success organization for our SOF GLSS (Special Operations Forces - Global Logistics Support Services) contract based in Lexington, KY. This program is critical to the success of US service men and women deployed throughout the world. Our mission is to rapidly and properly equip the SOF community and its war fighters with the best possible systems and equipment. This position will support Rotary Wing Aviation Programs for aircraft modification and depot level repair.

Responsibilities

Summary: Conduct compliance audits, including AS9100 standards, flight/ground procedures, and critical production processes. Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations and manage the full lifecycle of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA). Partner directly with production teams, providing proactive, hands-on Quality Engineering support across the shop floor. Define and integrate quality requirements into initial production planning and manage engineering change notice requirements. Execute technical evaluations of product specifications, engineering drawings, designs/models, and operational procedures to ensure full compliance.  Basic Qualifications 
 STEM degree at the Bachelor level or above with 2 years of professional experience, 1 year of professional experience with a related Master's degree or higher.  Must possess the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance. Proficiency in interpreting and analyzing complex engineering drawings, technical specifications, contract requirements, and performance metrics. Demonstrated experience in applying rigorous quality testing and inspection methodologies to ensure mission success. Proven ability to plan and execute comprehensive CAPA strategies. Expert-level capability in utilizing causal analysis tools (e.g., RCA) to identify, analyze, and resolve technical or process-related issues. Direct experience managing the identification, documentation, and disposition of non-conforming products/materials. Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, with particular emphasis on Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for data management and reporting.  Desired Skills 
 Demonstrate understanding of AS9100 audit techniques. Experience with SAP - Quality and Production/Engineering Experience with aircraft modification/depot level work. Experience in establishing performance metrics for identifying process improvement. Basic experience in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) for all and advanced for mechanical engineering. Experience in production floor level Quality support for processes and procedures for mechanical fabrication, machining and assembly. ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) and / or Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA). Experience with use of inspection gages and measuring equipment. Experience working in Government Owned-Contractor Operated (GOCO) environment. Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification. Strong knowledge of Industry recognized quality systems such as International (ISO), aerospace (AS), and FAA regulations. Quality Engineer - Aircraft Modification - Depot Level Repair
