Senior Director of Software Engineering

As a Senior Executive Director of Software Engineering at JPMorganChase within the Treasury/CIO technology team, you will lead our efforts to promote the strategic vision, architecture, and delivery of mission-critical trading platforms supporting Treasury and CIO business functions.

Lead and manage a high-performing team of software engineers, architects, and technical leads responsible for the design, development, and support of Treasury/CIO trade execution systems Define and execute the technology strategy for trade execution, ensuring alignment with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices Oversee end-to-end delivery of complex projects, including requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and post-production support Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the engineering team Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, and other technology teams to deliver scalable, resilient, and high-performance trading solutions Partner with quant, trading, and risk stakeholders to enable AI-based decision-making capabilities for trading and execution, ensuring explainability, governance, model validation, and regulatory compliance Ensure robust risk management, security, and compliance practices are embedded in all technology solutions Establish AI-based platform and application health monitoring using intelligent observability, anomaly detection, predictive alerting, incident correlation, and automated root-cause analysis to improve resiliency, and strengthen operational excellence for trading systems Drive adoption of modern engineering practices, including Agile methodologies, DevOps, cloud technologies, and automation Mentor and develop engineering talent, providing guidance on career growth, technical skills, and leadership capabilities Required qualifications, skills, and capabilities: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field 15+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing large, distributed teams Proven track record of delivering complex trading or financial systems in a global banking environment Expertise in modern programming languages (Java, Python, C++), distributed systems, cloud platforms, and microservices architecture Strong knowledge of risk, compliance, and regulatory requirements impacting trading technology Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills Ability to influence and drive change across technology and business teams Preferred qualifications, skills, and capabilities: Deep understanding of Treasury and CIO business functions, trade execution workflows, and financial markets
