Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health is the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC in more than 20 years, integrating clinical care with existing community providers, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC’s), The George Washington University Hospital, and our Urgent Care Center in Ward 8. This integrated delivery system is a robust network of care for all District residents, but more importantly, it ensures that residents of Wards 7 and 8 have access to high quality care in their community. This full-service hospital includes 136 beds (with the ability to expand to 184 beds), a verified trauma center, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and newborn delivery, an ambulatory pavilion for clinic visits and other outpatient services, a 500-car garage, and a helipad for emergency transport. We are currently seeking a Director of Nursing – Medical Surgical The Director of Nursing partners closely with the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to provide strategic leadership, operational oversight, and management of inpatient nursing services. This role is responsible for advancing nursing practice, enhancing patient care outcomes, and ensuring alignment with Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center Service Excellence Standards. The Director oversees nursing operations across multiple departments and collaborates with medical staff to provide clinical direction and ensure effective care management for the populations served. This position leads nursing quality and performance improvement initiatives, ensuring they are outcome-driven and aligned with regulatory, licensing, and accreditation standards. Additionally, the Director develops and implements programs that optimize resources and support the organization’s mission, as well as its short- and long-term strategic goals. Duties/Responsbilities: Provide strategic and operational leadership for inpatient nursing services across multiple departments Partner with the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to execute organizational goals, nursing strategy, and patient care initiatives Ensure delivery of high-quality, safe, and patient-centered care in alignment with Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center Service Excellence Standards Oversee daily nursing operations, including staffing, scheduling, patient flow, and resource allocation Lead, mentor, and develop Nurse Managers and clinical leaders to drive engagement, accountability, and performance Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to enhance clinical outcomes and patient experience Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) such as quality metrics, patient satisfaction, and throughput Ensure compliance with all regulatory, licensing, and accreditation standards (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS) Direct and support quality improvement, patient safety, and performance improvement initiatives Develop, implement, and evaluate policies, procedures, and clinical programs to improve care delivery Manage departmental budgets, productivity, and cost-effective utilization of resources Support recruitment, retention, and workforce planning strategies to maintain appropriate staffing levels Promote a culture of professional development, shared governance, and evidence-based practice Lead change management initiatives and support organizational growth and service line expansion Serve as a key liaison between nursing leadership, executive leadership, and medical staff To learn more visit https://cedarhillregional.com or https://jobs.uhsinc.com/cedar-hill-regional-medical-center.
