Job Description
Our team at the BMW Group drives the digital transformation of supply chain operations through cutting-edge machine learning and AI engineering. Every day, Material Steering departments coordinate more than 31 million parts to enable over 30 production locations to build more than 2.5 million vehicles per year. As an intern, you support us in turning natural language into SQL commands, transforming voice into text, and assessing supply chain risks. What awaits you?
You support the collection, preprocessing, and analysis of large datasets to extract insights that drive supply chain improvements. Furthermore, you help design, implement, and validate machine learning models to predict trends and optimize logistics processes. In addition, you contribute to developing algorithms and systems that automate reporting tasks and reduce manual effort. Moreover, you support close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, supply chain experts, and IT professionals. Additionally, you help prepare detailed reports and presentations on project progress, findings, and recommendations.
What should you bring along?
Studies in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field, Master's degree preferred. Proficiency in Python or R, along with experience in data analysis libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib and Scikit-Learn. Familiarity with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch. Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud, along with SQL and database management skills. Relevant experience through internships or research, plus a desire to collaborate in an international, agile team. Sharp intellect, creative mindset and curiosity about supply chain digitalization at a leading OEM. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
