Overview
Microsoft Advertising is looking for a Senior Social Media Manager to shape how our brand shows up and stands out across social platforms. You’ll turn business priorities, audience insights, and marketing campaigns into organic and paid social programs that earn attention, deepen engagement, and strengthen brand preference. As the social media subject matter expert, you’ll work across the marketing organization to build channel strategies, content plans, and campaign activations that advance Microsoft Advertising’s business goals. You’ll combine strategic thinking, hands-on content development, performance analysis, and operational rigor to make social media a high-impact, measurable marketing channel. This role is ideal for a marketer who understands how brands earn attention on social, moves comfortably between strategy and execution, and enjoys turning complex ideas into clear, compelling stories for distinct audiences. Responsibilities
Strategy & Business Planning Develop and execute social media strategies aligned to Microsoft Advertising brand, audience, and campaign priorities. Translate business, marketing, product, and brand objectives into audience-led social strategies, channel plans, and measurable outcomes. Use audience insights, social listening, performance data, and industry trends to identify opportunities and optimize channel and content strategies. Build reporting frameworks that connect content and channel performance to audience behavior, campaign objectives, and future investment decisions. Content & Audience Engagement Manage organic and paid social media programs, including editorial planning, content activation, publishing, community engagement, audience targeting, and performance optimization. Create platform-native content and social experiences that increase audience engagement, reach, and advocacy. Develop social copy, creative briefs, content recommendations, and multimedia assets that align with audience needs and brand objectives. Independently create and/or support short-form video and multimedia content production when appropriate. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Management Partner with product marketing, communications, events, executive communications, and campaign teams to transform strategic initiatives into impactful social content and experiences. Lead and coordinate complex, cross-functional marketing initiatives across diverse stakeholder groups. Build trusted relationships and effectively communicate recommendations, insights, risks, and opportunities to stakeholders at multiple levels. Insights, Measurement & Optimization Establish metrics, reporting frameworks, and performance reviews to measure business impact and marketing effectiveness. Analyze audience, channel, campaign, and content performance data to drive actionable recommendations and continuous improvement. Leverage social listening, analytics, publishing, campaign management, and marketing automation tools to inform decisions and improve outcomes.
