Ericsson’s Intellectual Property Rights and Licensing organization is seeking participants for its three-year Patent Attorney Trainee Program. This program is designed for recent master’s or doctoral graduates, and early-career professionals, with a background in information and communication technology or a related field. You will work at the intersection of technology, innovation and intellectual property, helping protect ideas that shape the future of communications.
What you will do
Participate in structured training in patent law, technology and intellectual property. No prior legal experience is required. Work with inventors and technical specialists to understand new ideas and identify potential intellectual property opportunities. Develop skills in evaluating inventions, drafting patent applications and supporting their review by patent offices. Learn how intellectual property can support innovation and business goals. Complete a secondment with a patent law firm or patent office as part of your development. Build the knowledge and experience needed to pursue qualification as a European Patent Attorney. Collaborate with colleagues across an international technology and intellectual property organization. The skills you bring: A master’s or doctoral degree, or equivalent experience, in information and communication technology or a related technical field. A strong interest in technology, innovation and how new ideas can be protected. Excellent written and spoken English. Careful attention to detail and the ability to understand complex technical information. A collaborative approach and openness to giving and receiving feedback. Motivation to learn, develop and build a career in patent work.
