Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health opened its doors in April 2025 as the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC in more than 25 years! Integrating clinical care with existing community providers, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC’s), The George Washington University Hospital, and our Urgent Care Center in Ward 8, this enhanced integrated delivery system will establish a robust network of care for all District residents, but more importantly, it will ensure residents of Wards 7 and 8 have access to high quality care in their community. Our advanced hospital will offer 136 beds (with the ability to expand to 184 beds), a verified trauma center, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and newborn delivery, an ambulatory pavilion for clinic visits and other outpatient services, onsite 550-car parking garage, and a helipad for emergency transport. We are seeking a Cook (Full-Time) Our ideal candidate will be able to follow recipes and/or product directions for preparing, seasoning cooking, tasting, carving and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts and other food items for consumption in eating establishments. They will need to be able to prepare foods by operating a variety of kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients, washing, peeling, cutting and shredding fruits and vegetables, and trimming and cutting meat, poultry or fish for culinary use. They will need to be able to taste products, reads menus, estimates food requirements, check production, and keep records in order to accurately plan production requirements and requisitions supplies and equipment. They will need to be able to clean and sanitize workstations and equipment and must follow all client, regulatory HACCP rules and procedures. Job Duties/Responsibilities: Follow directions for preparing, and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts and other food items for consumption in patient and retail serving areas. Prepare foods by operating a variety of kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients, wash, peel, cut, shred fruits and vegetables, and trim and cut meat, poultry or fish for culinary use. Taste products, read, and follow production sheets, and keep records as needed. Prepare and cook to order foods requiring short preparation time at cooking stations and preparation areas throughout the department. Read food order and receive verbal instructions on food required by patron, and prepare and cook food according to instructions. Clean and sanitize work stations and equipment and must follow all client regulatory HACCP rules and procedures. Perform other job duties as required.
