As Manager of Data Analytics – Upstream, you will serve as a strategic and hands-on leader, applying advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, optimization modeling, and operations research techniques to improve business performance across a complex upstream and midstream energy portfolio. You will partner closely with operations, engineering, commercial, and leadership teams to solve high-value challenges related to development planning, production optimization, gathering and compression systems, contract management, workforce planning, emissions reduction, and long-term gas strategy. You will transform complex operational data into actionable insights, predictive models, and decision-support solutions. You will play a critical role in maximizing asset value, navigating development constraints associated with substantial federal land holdings, and accelerating the integration and optimization of newly acquired assets. Responsibilities/Expectations: Leads development of advanced analytics, optimization models, and AI-driven solutions that improve decision-making across drilling, completions, production operations, midstream systems, and commercial activities Optimizes field development planning and capital deployment by balancing operational, regulatory, environmental, infrastructure, commercial, and resource constraints to maximize asset value Develops forecasting and planning capabilities for production, operating expenses, field performance, and long-range business scenarios, enabling more accurate operational and financial decision-making Drives operational efficiency improvements through analytics-based optimization of workforce deployment, field service scheduling, artificial lift systems, fuel consumption, and overall production performance Improves midstream and commercial outcomes by modeling and optimizing gathering systems, compression networks, transportation agreements, gas contracts, processing arrangements, and market access strategies Builds enterprise analytics solutions for financial, operational, and environmental performance, including actuals versus accruals analysis, G&A performance tracking, emissions reporting, reconciliation, and reduction initiatives Partners cross-functionally to accelerate value creation across the asset portfolio, rapidly integrating newly acquired assets, applying optimization frameworks, and translating complex data into actionable recommendations for operations and executive leadership Other duties as assigned Education/Years of Experience: Required: Bachelor's Degree in Science in Engineering or related field and eight (8) years of Oil and Gas Operations Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Science in Engineering or related field and ten (10) years of Oil and Gas Operations Other Requirements: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application and PC skills Strong budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and capital budgeting, plus comfort with Excel, planning systems, and sometimes BI tools. Knowledge of upstream processes—exploration, drilling, production, or material/supply planning Strong practical experience with Python, SQL, and modern data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent platforms.
